Believe it or not, I do get tired of being a killjoy but someone has to be the voice of reason

If you are a novice to training (99% of you are) & you have fallen into the trap of:

beast mode
no pain no gain
it only counts if you puke
it was only a good session if I’m sore for the next 3 days
it was only a good session if I can’t walk for a week
DOMS = GAINS

You are an idiot and a fool and don’t have a damn clue about programming, progressive overload, MRV, MEV, neural adaptations or anything training related and should stay off IG, stop reading bodybuildingdotcom and tnation and start training with a goal, a plan and a purpose.

*Edited to add: I’ve been training for 30 years and have never had an injury directly related to training. Never.

Rhabdomyolysis, kidney failure and other serious injuries are no joke. This shit can be life threatening and some of you need to learn to respect the bar.

You also need to stop asking internet strangers for advice and seek medical attention when something is off. It could mean the difference between life and death.

And for those who feel compelled to answer with their Dr. Google knowledge- don’t- refer them to seek medical attention. That’s the ethical thing to do.
